Susan Boggon-Smith - Professional Clinical Hypnotherapist
How do you choose a Hypnotherapist?
Check that they have trained with a recognised centre, and hold recognised quailifications such as the Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy. Additionally it is important that they are registered with independent professional bodies and receiving regular CPD. Some therapists have more experience and may work in a professional clinic alongside other psychotherapists. I work at the Eastlands Clinic in Newcastle. (see the links section).

The APHP is not merely a general hypnotherapy register, or simply a directory of hypnotherapists in the Uk. Each of the members is known to have received thorough training in hypnosis and hypnotherapy, is competent and concientious and abides by the code of ethics set by the association. These organisations are also committed to members receiving ongoing training.
REBHP The Register for Evidence-based Hypnotherapy & Psychotherapy adhere to strict entry criteria for qualified hypnotherapists.
UKCHO (Confederation of Hypnotherapy Organisations) in consultation with the Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health are working towards promoting the profession and practice of Hypnotherapy in the UK. The APHP is listed on the UKCHO member organisations site at UKCHO

Left untreated Stress can lead to depression. There were 250,000 claims costing over £600m for stress related illnesses in 2006. Currently 530 companies a day go to tribunal. In some cases a trip to the G.P or counselling can help, but your staff can now choose this confidential service including, hypnotherapy, CBT or EFT which are none invasive methods, with great success. This gives your company the diversity required in offering your staff support in this area and protection from expensive litigation. Use of the iWAM test can help detect stress and conflict in an organisation or at a personal level. Hypnotherapy combined with CBT is proven to be twice as effective as all other forms of psychotherapy with most psychological problems. • “Hypnotherapy and CBT combined have superior rates of success compared to any other method in well conducted published studies”. • "All Organisations should develop a mental health policy". (Royal College of Psychiatrists) • "Organisations should provide for not only the physical safety but mental well being of staff to avoid costly litigation". (House of Lords in recent years). • "All employers should have policies and procedures in place necessary to address work-related stress", (Dr James Wallace from the National Health & Safety Co.)
